Aged 19, Charlotte moved from a small midlands town (known for brewing beer) to London to pursue a dream of being a professional dancer. After attending the prestigious London Studio Centre for 3 years of stage school, she went on to perform all over the world, singing and dancing in shows from Phantom of the Opera to Cabaret shows in London’s West End.

Taking on the role…

During her time training at London Studio Centre, Charlotte started getting into Personal Training and teaching without even knowing it. She would help other dancers build confidence with their injuries, help them train in the gym and would show them ways to gain flexibility, strength and overall fitness. Whilst the dance teachers were great at bringing out the performance in the dancers, they often lacked an understanding anatomy and physiology. Charlotte wanted to understand the body inside and out.

The learning phase…

Whilst dancing across the world, Charlotte kept her head in her books. If she didn’t know something, she would study for hours until she did. She certified in an array of teaching qualifications including Level 3 PT, Pilates Matwork, Fascial Therapy, Barre fitness, Post and Pre Natal and plenty more. Stepping into the role of Personal Trainer was a natural progression. Charlotte had a decade worth of movement mastery and she wanted to share this with anybody who was willing!

The missing link…

Charlotte recognised that the dance world was missing the scientific understanding of exercise principles, that would shortcut them years of unproductive training that often lead to injury or poor results. She also found that the Personal Training world was missing the intricacy, grace and finesse of the dance world, which would help them to coach better and assist in skill aquisition. Charlotte wanted these two worlds to collide and so ‘The Method’ was born. How was it that trainers were not speaking about weight placement, visualisation, movement intention, focus and eyeline? All of this was crucial in the dance world. How was it that dancers were still using outdated and ineffective methods of stretching and strengthening?

The Method…

Charlotte has put together a class that unifies the elegance of the dance world and the scientifically proven methods within the Personal Training world. She has taken two decades worth of dance mastery, thousands of hours worth of teaching and research to produce an array of classes that echo the concepts of science backed training with the grace and precision of dance.

In addition…

Outside of teaching group classes, Charlotte is a sought after Personal Trainer. She has worked with an array of high profile celebrities, professional sports people and training enthusiasts. She has been featured in publications including Women’s Health, The Marylebone Journal, Boots UK and Vogue. Charlotte continues to guest teach all over the UK, leading classes for Sweaty Betty Live, TRX UK Summit, Body Power Expo and Harrods exclusive in-store events.
